Sussex Cricket Statement

Sussex Cricket can confirm that the Independent Cricket Discipline Panel (CDP) has concluded its investigation into Fynn Hudson-Prentice following the use of offensive language after the conclusion of the County Championship match against Yorkshire on Thursday, 18 September 2026.

The CDP determined that the player will receive a one-match ban, which has already been served during the final round of the County Championship fixtures. In addition, supported by the PCA, Fynn will complete a required education and training course.

Sussex Cricket would like to also place on record that Tom Haines was not involved in the incident and was incorrectly named in the subsequent report. 

Upon being made aware of the incident, Sussex acted swiftly—immediately suspending the player and reporting the matter to the Cricket Regulator for investigation.

Sussex Cricket now considers the matter closed and will not comment any further.
